Our volunteer mentors comprise secondary school teachers, certified physical education masters, retired industrial craftsmen, healthcare professionals, active parents, and proud alumni of local vocational lycées. What unites them is a shared conviction: every vocational apprentice deserves encouraging mentorship, physical vitality, and equal access to structured sports, regardless of socioeconomic background.
Our operational statutes clearly mandate: "All membership fees and dues are fully reinvested in the association's public interest missions." Volunteers receive no financial compensation, executive dividends, or commercial incentives. In return, the association provides full civil insurance protection, pedagogical training, safety equipment, and an inspiring community of civic service.
Active Volunteer Roles & Participation Pathways
We offer four distinct engagement tracks tailored to individual availability, technical expertise, and personal interests:
1. Athletic Coaching Mentors & Training Assistants
Work alongside state-certified physical educators during mid-week sprint clinics, high jump practices, and relay handoff drills. Mentors assist in athlete warmups, timekeeping with digital stopwatch gates, setting up hurdle lanes, and offering encouraging, technical feedback to apprentice runners. Certified sports educators with federal athletic licenses or university sports degrees (STAPS) may lead specific specialized workshops.
2. Event Logistics & Excursion Safety Stewards
Crucial for our weekend cross-country events and regional inter-school tournaments. Stewards manage athlete check-in stations, distribute official non-commercial race numbers, supervise hydration points, monitor forest trail intersections in the Ardennes natural park, and assist with crowd management and sportsmanship record keeping.
3. First-Aid & Health Support Stewards
Qualified volunteers holding certified first-aid credentials (PSC1, PSE1, or SST) provide essential medical standby during training sessions and outdoor meets. They maintain association medical kits, monitor student hydration, provide immediate care for minor sprains or abrasions, and coordinate with municipal emergency services (SAMU 08 / Sapeurs-Pompiers) when necessary.
4. Student Peer Mentors & Alumni Ambassadors
Senior apprentices in their final year of vocational study and recent graduates who have benefited from association programs. - Onboarding & Mentorship Briefings: New volunteers receive structured orientation from our Executive Bureau, detailing student safety standards, facility operating rules, and ethical codes before commencing duties.
- Recognition of Voluntary Experience (Bénévolat): The association delivers official certificates of volunteer commitment (Attestation d'engagement associatif), supporting volunteers seeking accreditation of prior experiential learning (VAE) or civic leadership credentials.

Stage 1: Application Submission & Initial Dialogue
Prospective volunteers submit the online registration form below or submit written credentials to our secretariat at 84 Rue du Bois Fortant. The Executive Bureau invites applicants for an informal conversation to explore mutual pedagogical values, schedule availability, and preferred sports disciplines.
Stage 2: Administrative Compliance & Honorability Verification
In strict compliance with French national sports regulations and Article L. 212-9 of the Code du Sport, the association initiates an official background check through the French Ministry of Sports (contrôle d'honorabilité) ensuring no judicial disqualifications exist on Bulletin n°2 du Casier Judiciaire.
Stage 3: Orientation Seminar & Safety Protocol Briefing
Volunteers complete a three-hour safety and ethics seminar covering emergency medical procedures, automated external defibrillator (AED) locations across municipal gymnasiums in Charleville-Mézières, child safeguarding codes, and anti-discrimination charters.
